1. Check Internet Connection
One of the common reasons behind the error is a slow internet connection. So if your internet is having issues, then you won’t really be able to download files. And to check your internet speed, you can follow these steps:
Go to Windows Settings > Network & Internet > Over here to check if your network status is good. In case if there is an issue with your network connection, then scroll down to find “Network troubleshooter” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Click on the Apple icon from the desktop > go to System Preference > Network > Select the network adapter to check, and the status of your internet connection will be displayed over here.
2. Clear browser cache and data
Maybe it’s your browser cache and data, which is the main culprit behind the cannot download files from Google Drive issues.
As you probably already know that cache build-up can cause webpage loading issues and may not offer you a pleasant browsing experience.
Hence, it is advised that you clean your browser cache from time to time. And to do this, you can follow these steps:

3. Use a private window
In case if you are the owner of the file, then I would recommend you to share the file with everyone and then use a private window to download the file. Or you can use a different browser.
For this, you will need to follow these steps:
- At first, go to Google Drive.
- Then search for the file that you wish to download.
- Right-click on the file and select Share.
- Next, click on change to anyone with the link.
- After that, copy the sharing URL.
- Now open an incognito or private tab on your internet browser and go to the URL you have copied. Alternatively, you can use a different browser.

4. Disable Ad Blockers or Antivirus
If you are using adblocker extension on your browser or using an antivirus application. Then it might be the reason why you cannot download files from Google Drive.

5. Switch Google Accounts

5. Use some other device
