How to Share Large Videos Files Using Gmail?
As you may know, you can only send less than 25 MB files using Gmail. Since Gmail has a cap on the size of files you can send through it, there is only one way to circumvent this problem.
You have to upload your files to Google Drive, generate a public link from your Drive, and send the link via Gmail. Now, the person who gets this mail can open the link and view the file regardless of its size. Refer to the instructions provided below to see how to do that.
- Open your laptop or PC and load your preferred browser.
- Head over to the Google Drive website at drive.google.com.
- Enter your credentials to access the Drive.
- If you’ve not yet uploaded your file to the Drive, click on the New button on the side menu and choose File upload.
- Once the file has been uploaded, select the file and draw out the contextual menu by right-clicking on it.
- Choose the Get link option. Click on the section that says Restricted and select Anyone with the link.
- Now, change the access levels to your liking. You can choose between editor, viewer, and commenter.
- Press the Copy link button beside the generated link to copy it.
- Now, go to the Gmail website at gmail.com.
- Enter your details if prompted to log in.
- Select the Compose button on the side menu.
- Enter the email of the person you want to share the file with, paste the link to the file, and hit Send.
Since you selected the Anyone with the link option, anyone who has the link to this file can view it. It doesn’t necessarily have to be only the person who you sent the link to.
