Step-1: Open Microsoft Outlook in the desktop application.
Step-2: Click New Email from the Home page of the Outlook Online desktop application.
Step-3: Click the Insert option and click Shapes to add the shapes in Outlook Online.
Step-4: Now add the shapes as per your needs. Here I am using a rectangle shape for the example.
Step-5: Once you click on this shape, the + shape icon will appear. We can drag for the rectangle shape.

Change the Shade of the Shape in Outlook Online
Once the shape is created, it will come with the shade. Follow the below points to remove the shade for the shape in Outlook Online.
- Open Microsoft Outlook in the desktop application.
- Click New Email from the Home page of the Outlook Online desktop application.
- Make sure the shape has been created already. Right-click on the shape then click the Format Shape option.
- Once you click Format Shape, it will show the options under the Fill column like
- No fill – Shade will be removed from the shape
- Solid fill – Color remains the same with shadow
- Gradient fill – Partly shade appears
- Picture or texture fill – Shade with the texture
- Pattern fill – Filled with pattern
- Once you click No fill, the shade will be removed from the shape in the Outlook Online application.
- If you click the Gradient fill option then the shape will look like the below image.
- If you click Picture or text, then the shape will be filled with Texture format.
- Once you click the Pattern fill option, then Shape in Outlook Online will change with the pattern.
- To delete or remove the shape, jus right-click on the shape then click the Cut option. So the shape will be removed from the Outlook Online desktop application.
