How to share word documents online? Select the share option on the top ribbon if the option is unavailable click on File and select Share. Enter the email id of the person you would like to share the document with. You can add a message while sending the document. Finally, click on Send.

- Open the document you would like to work on. documents in word online are saved on onedrive. You can access the drive and retrieve documents. Log in using your outlook account.
- Once you have the document you would like to share click on the Share option
- The Share option is located on the main ribbon on the right side under your profile picture.
- make sure you are in Editing mode or have permission to edit or the share option won’t be visible.
- once you click on the share option you will get a popup window.
- here you can add the email id of the person or persons you want to share the document with.
- while sending the collaboration email you can send personalized messages to people you are collaborating with.
- There is also an option to copy the link and share it with people.
- Another important thing to remember while sharing the document is that you can choose what the person can do. In other words, you can specify if the person can edit the document or if they can only view the document.

When it comes to sharing word online documents you can either do it by entering the recipient’s email id or by sharing the link. here is how to share a link with someone you would like to collaborate with.
- Open the document you would like to share
- Click on the share option
- In the popup window, you will find a copy link section
- Click on Copy
- Once you click on the Copy button another popup window will open

- to change the preferences or permissions you would like to give click on the arrow
- you will have another popup window
- The link settings help define what you would like the person you are sharing the document with to do.
- You can also limit the audience to people in your organization (here you can see the link can be shared with people in my organization)
- If you have previously shared the document, you can choose to share the file with those who already have access
- You can also choose specific people you would like to add
- The most common is to give access to anyone who has the link – this option must not be chosen for confidential data.
- you can also enable the editing option and turn the revied mode on. This allows you to track changes made to the document.
- once you have made the desired changes to the link and editing preferences click on Apply
- The link can then be shared on either message or email.

Sharing word documents online on an Android device
When it comes to ease of communication and collaboration we can all swear by the phones we use. We can now edit documents on the go using handheld devices. in this section, let’s look at how we can share word online documents using android devices.
- locate the document you want to share. Documents recently will be in the recent folder in your word application. you can also log in to word online from the browser or use the ondrive application.
- Once you have the document in front of you tap on it to open it
- Tap on the sharing option on the top of your screen.
- Once you tap on the share option you will get sharing options on the bottom of your screen.
- Here you can specify people you want to collaborate with
- sharing can be done by sending the link to people
- you can also share the document as an attachment
- once you click on the share as link option you can either edit the link. Which generally shortens the link that is sent to people. or you can have a link to a view-only file
- if you send a view-only file to people they will not be able to make changes to the document sent to them.
- If you choose the Share as attachment option you can either send it as a Word file or a PDF
- it can then be attached to an email or sent as a message.

How to share word documents online on an iOS device?
When it comes to sharing and collaborating using iOS devices you can follow these steps
- Locate the document that needs to be shared. You can either use a browser or the application
- Once you have the document in front of you tap on it to open it
- Once open tap on the share option. this is the one with a figure near a + sign
- This will open a menu titled Share.
- Tap on invite people if you have a list of email ids to add
- You could also copy the link using the copy link option and send it to those you want to collaborate with.
- Alternatively, you can send the file as an attachment using the send attachment option.
- Be sure to specify if the person can edit the document. This can be done by tapping on the switch near the Can edit option
- Once you are satisfied tap on send
Note: if you are sharing the document with people using their email id be sure to add in a message.
